Music guides that are honest about their sources.
Free tools and plain guides for home producers, bedroom beatmakers, songwriters, and anyone making music without a big studio.
A lot of music advice online is either too technical, too salesy, or too vague to act on. We try to fix that: explain things in plain words, link to the source for every price and specification, and build free tools that do one job well.

A small editorial team
Shlohmo is an independent site run by a small editorial team. We are researchers and writers, not a product testing lab, and we don't claim to be one.
Our value is in doing the research work properly: reading the official documentation and pricing pages, checking the numbers, and turning it into clear guides you can act on.
Design and development of the site are handled by Logical Dottech, a web development company in India.
How we research and recommend
Our guides are compiled from manufacturer specifications, official documentation and pricing pages, and the other sources we link to in each guide.
We do not independently test every product we write about, and we say so plainly. Where a price or specification matters, we link to the maker's own page so you can verify it yourself. We would rather tell you exactly how solid our information is than imply an authority we haven't earned.
Recommendations are based on what fits the reader. The site may show ads or include affiliate links in future, and neither will decide what we recommend. When we get something wrong, we correct it.
Full details are on our Editorial Policy and Affiliate Disclosure pages.
